IMPORTANT CHANGES IN ACP MEDICINE
Effective with the March 2012 issue of ACP Medicine, we have changed our Web site table of contents to reflect medicine's ever-changing scientific foundations. We have renamed and combined sections, and we have created new sections. Clinical Essentials is now under the heading Interdisciplinary Medicine. Some chapters formally in Interdisciplinary Medicine are now in their own separate sections such as Palliative Medicine, Human Genetics, and Geriatric Medicine. We are adding the new feature Critical Care to Respiratory Medicine, and the section is now titled Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine. The two sections Endocrinology and Metabolism are now the one section Endocrinology & Metabolism; and Hematology and Oncology are now Hematology-Oncology. You will find that some of the chapters are organized under new subsections as well, which will help you locate related content more easily.
We are also now sharing several chapters among sections. For example, Diseases of Calcium Metabolism and Metabolic Bone Disease will be a primary chapter in Endocrinology & Metabolism, but it will also appear in the Rheumatology section. We are doing this because sometimes chapters include content that is relative to several fields of medicine. Our editors are determining which chapters should be shared and are reviewing them to ensure that the perspectives from the different fields are being included. You will find other examples in Infectious Diseases, Rheumatology, Hematology-Oncology, and Neurology, and more will follow.
Please take advantage of our Kampyle feedback feature and let us know what you think of the changes.
Thank you.
