I Cutaneous Manifestations of Systemic Disease

This chapter reviews key cutaneous manifestations of systemic diseases that should be recognized by most physicians and highlights recent developments in the diagnosis and management of those disorders. In many of the disorders presented, workup and therapy of the underlying systemic condition are essential to a favorable outcome. Cardiopulmonary, vascular, endocrinologic, gastrointestinal, hematologic, immunodeficiency, infectious, neurologic, renal, and rheumatologic diseases are discussed. Many of the syndromes characterized by physical symptoms are accompanied by color figures demonstrating the manifestations for the reader's reference. This chapter contains 27 figures and 84 references.
